Best to allow 2 hours to complete. Obviously it depends on how good your sense of direction is and if you choose to use the clues that help you around the maze. If you want to stay until you have found every brass rubbing, sometimes this can take longer! But there is no rush, you are welcome to spend the whole day at the maze!
Yes, there is a picnic area alongside this beautiful river. A super cafe and two great pubs are also very close to the maze, or take a short drive to Yearlstone Vineyard where there are fantastic views over the village.
The maze is situated on a working farm so sturdy footwear is recommended. The paths through the maze are soil and although compacted may become difficult for pushchairs and wheelchairs in wet weather. There is an alternative route avoiding the bridge.
All children 14 and under should be supervised by an adult at all times. The Maze adventure is fun for all ages and is a super way to spend time together. Collecting all the brass rubbings is a great team achievement.
The JAMES BOND MAZE is situated at Bickleigh on the A396 between Exeter and Tiverton. Follow the AA signs in Bickleigh, we are next to Bickleigh Mill, renowned for it's restaurant and toy/gift shop and unique all round shopping experience.
In very extreme weather we may have to temporarily close the maze as the paths can become wet and slippery. Feel free to ring if you are unsure or have any other questions.
Yes, the 10 acre maze can be tackled from parents' shoulders and help them around! We also have mini tractors, pedal go-karts, a sand pit and ball pool for children under 5,. There are also plenty of giant games which are suitable for all ages.
Unfortunately we do not allow dogs in the maze but there are some lovely walks on many footpaths in and around Bickleigh.
